Identity Thiefs Strike Marshall Area

Police investigate potential fraud ring in Marshall MARSHALL, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police are investigating a potential fraud ring in the Marshall area.

We’re told they’ve identified more than 30 victims, and that number is growing.

The victims involved say they shopped at stores in the Marshall area on Friday, then their bank accounts were drained. The money has been spent from California to New York to Canada.

Police are trying to figure out who is responsible, and have been looking into how they could have accessed the account information.
As of right now, they simply aren’t certain.
Police suggest that consumers beware, and offer a few tips:

*Use an ATM inside a bank, as opposed to outside.
*Never hand your card to anyone unless you have to.
*Check your accounts regularly.
*Make sure you have ID protection.
